These regulations can be viewed and downloaded in German and English from the German Bar Association’s website (www.brak.de).
Lawyers are forbidden to represent conflicting interest by § 43a Abs. 4 BRAO (Federal Lawyers’ Act). Therefore, before accepting a client, a conflict of interest check will be conducted first.
Arbitration

Upon request the Regional Bar Association Frankfurt am Main will arbitrate conflicts between lawyers and their clients in accordance to § § 73 Abs. 2 Nr. 3 and § 73 Abs. 5 BRAO. Furthermore, arbitration in these cases is available at the German Bar Association’s Arbitration Board (§ 191 Abs. 1 BRAO) which can be contacted via web at www.brak.de or via e-mail at schlichtungsstelle@brak.de.
LIVONIUS | VAN RIENEN Partnerschaft von Rechtsanwälten mbB does not participate in arbitration by a Verbraucherschlichtungsstelle (General Conciliation Body) and is not obliged to do so.
